Essential Functions
Using CAD software (SolidWorks required and AutoCAD would be a plus), produces 3D models of components of complex assemblies from rough drawings. Creates assembly drawings and produces BOM for newly developed products. Generally receives a basic concept of a product design or function and uses creativity to produce a detailed follow-up design incorporating fit and functionality. Using MRP software, researches similar parts for design purposes. Works creatively with mechanical and electrical engineers to develop solutions to unique problems. Reviews Engineering Change Orders for accuracy and incorporates changes as requested into the final design.

Requires proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software. Requires the ability to use basic machining and measurement tools, devices and instruments. Requires an understanding of what elements are required on a drawing. Requires basic Microsoft applications skills (MS Word, Outlook). Must have knowledge of and ability to use MRP software. Must possess knowledge of ANSI standards for drafting. Must have the ability to excel in a team environment, a strong mechanical aptitude, and an understanding of how mechanical assemblies function. Requires an AS degree in drafting/design or the equivalent experience, strong mechanical aptitude and experience producing small precision machined parts.

Environmental Considerations
Position resides in an office setting. Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods of time. Must have the ability and willingness to work occasional overtime as necessary to complete projects. Must be able to understand and follow safety procedures. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening is required.
