F. Paul Carlson

Paul Carlson

Dr. Carlson has served as a member of the Cascade Microtech Board since September, 1992. He is president and CEO of the Carlson Group of Companies in Olympia, Washington, and a co-founder of several other high-technology firms. Other consulting activities have been in business re-engineering and restructuring projects in Saudi Arabia; Lucent Power Systems; AT&T Microelectronics, as well as development in other startup and early-stage development companies. He has also been a part of joint venture initiatives for municipal telecommunication expansions, community economic development projects, among others. Prior to becoming a consultant, Dr. Carlson was Vice President of Strategy and Business Development, at Honeywell, Inc. from 1988 to 1991. Between 1977 and 1988 he was President and CEO of Oregon Graduate Center, where he also founded OGI Telecomm, a shared tenant service provider (STS). He has served on the boards of numerous high technology and Fortune 500 companies including Frank Russell Trust Company, Tektronix, PacifiCorp, Logic Automation (Synopsis), Cascade Microtech Inc., Barrett Enclosures Inc., Simutech LLC., and Integrated Data Communications (IDC) Inc. Dr. Carlson is a registered engineer in Washington and Oregon and has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, where he was a Professor of Electrical Engineering for 10 years.


Michael D. Burger

Michael Burger

Cascade Microtech’s Board of Directors appointed Michael D. Burger as the company’s president, chief executive officer, and a member of the company’s board of directors effective July 6, 2010. Prior to joining Cascade Microtech, Mr. Burger served as the president and chief executive officer of Merix Corporation, a printed circuit board manufacturer and currently a wholly owned subsidiary of Viasystems Group, Inc. where he continues to serve on the board of directors. Before joining Merix, Mr. Burger served as president of the Components Business of Flextronics Corporation, an electronics manufacturing services provider. Prior to Flextronics, he was president and member of the board of directors of ZILOG Corporation. For more than 20 years, Burger has successfully grown high technology businesses both domestically and in China. Burger holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the New Mexico State University and a certificate from the Stanford University International Executive Management Program.


Eric W. Strid

Eric Strid

Eric W. Strid leads Cascade Microtech's advanced measurement technology development as Chief Technical Officer. Co-founding Cascade Microtech in 1983, Eric has held positions as chairman, president, and CEO. Prior to 1984, Eric served as a principal engineer with Tektronix, Inc. and with TriQuint Semiconductor, where he designed and evaluated high-frequency gallium arsenide integrated circuits. Eric holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.


John Y. Chen

Vice President of Technology & Foundry Management, NVIDIA

John Y Chen

Dr. Chen has been with NVIDIA as vice president of Technology and Foundry Management since 2004. Prior to that, he was vice president and the head of R&D at TSMC, vice president of Operations and vice president of Business Development at WaferTech in Camas, Washington. In his earlier days at TSMC, Dr. Chen was responsible for Product Engineering, as well as Testing and Packaging Operations, and served on the board of CAESAR, a testing company later acquired by SPIL, Taiwan. Dr. Chen, an IEEE Fellow and the author of “CMOS Devices and Technology for VLSI”, has taught at the Electrical Engineering Department in Santa Clara University and is now on its advisory board. He was a Howard Hughes Doctor Fellow and received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and a Master in Executive Engineering Management, both from UCLA. He also holds an M.S. from University of Maine and a B.S. from National Taiwan University, both in electrical engineering.

Mr. Delafield is the chairman, president and CEO of Delafield Hambrecht, Inc. Previously, he co-founded WR Hambrecht + Co., an Internet and auction technology-driven investment bank, and held a number of positions including chief operation officer. Prior to WR Hambrecht + Co., Mr. Delafield worked at Morgan Stanley in investment banking in New York and Singapore and at The Coca-Cola Company in Beijing. Mr. Delafield is a former board member of The Henry Art Gallery, Cost-U-Less, Cardiac Science, WR Hambrecht and REM Medical. He currently serves on the boards of directors of Seattle Bank, SleepHealth Centers and Epiphany School. Mr. Delafield holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Executive Vice President & CFO of FEI Company

Raymond Link

Raymond is the executive vice president and CFO of FEI Company. FEI is a NASDAQ public company headquartered in Hillsboro and is global manufacturer of tools for nanotechnology. Before joining FEI, Raymond was the CFO at TriQuint Semiconductor and has been a CFO of large corporations for nearly 20 years. Raymond is a certified public accountant and has an MBA from the Wharton School.


William R. Spivey

Bill Spivey

Dr. Spivey has served as a member of the Cascade Microtech Board since July 1998. He was formerly the President and Chief Executive Officer of Luminent Inc. from 2000 to 2001. Dr. Spivey served as president of the Network Products Group of Lucent Technologies from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that he served as Vice President of the Systems and Components Group and Member of the Office of the President and Co-chair of the Executive Committee at AT&T Microelectronics. Dr. Spivey holds a BS in physics from Duquesne University, an MS in Physics from Indiana University in Indiana, Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in Administration / Management from Walden University. Dr. Spivey also serves as a director of Lyondell Chemical Co., Novellus Systems Inc., The Laird Group, Plc. and Raytheon Company.
